Based on some of the results of past NBA Draft proceedings, even the most fervent critics of NBA General Managers and Scouts would have to admit that, with very few exceptions, projecting a player’s level of success in the league is an inexact science.
This was the case even when scouts had 3-4 years to evaluate a player’s development at the college level. With most of the top high school players now playing only one year in college before turning pro, the ability of team personnel evaluators to recognize which skills best translate to the next level (and who has those skills) becomes paramount. And for a variety of reasons, some teams are simply better at player projections than others.
With that in mind, give the midrangehoops.com Basketball Trivia Quiz # 8 a try – this time the focus is on past NBA Drafts (without going too far back) with a sub-focus on some of the league’s top players who managed to slip past teams who could have used the talent upgrade.
Good Luck!
